FAQs - Cosmetic
All Cosmetic treatments chosen by our Doctors have a long established record for both effectiveness and safety. Generally most injectable cosmetic treatments are very safe. Also, because they are temporary in duration, it follows that any side effects, if they occur, will also be temporary.
All of the above are the effects of over- treatment. This is very unlikely to occur at our clinic as our Doctors will tailor your treatment to enhance your looks, rather than totally change them. We will aim to make changes that are proportional to the rest of the face so that the result is a natural fresher look.
As stated above, the only Cosmetic treatments we use have a long established record for both effectiveness and safety. However, every treatment has the potential for side effects—specific for each treatment. Most, such as swelling and minor bruising—are short lived and minor. Your doctor will discuss relevant side effects of treatments at your consultation.
Each different treatment has a different duration, but as a guide:
Wrinkle Relaxers: 3-5 months
Dermal Fillers: 3-6 months
Lip Enhancement: 3-6 months
Cosmetic Mole Removal: Permanent
Vein Sclerotherapy: Permanent (however does not prevent new veins occurring)
Every patient varies in what is recommended—both the treatment type and the amount of product used. Hence we do require that you see the doctor for a firm quote. However it is no secret that our pricing is amongst the most competitive in Perth, especially considering that the treatments are carried out by Doctors.
The Skin and Mole Clinic is a busy clinic, hence appointments are essential. Our staff will endeavour to fit you in at short notice, especially for cosmetic treatments, but you are unlikely to get a same day appointment unless there has been a cancellation.
Yes, our doctors insist on a consultation with each new patient. This is to discuss which treatments are most suitable for you, assess any possible side effects and inform you of the cost of treatments.
Frequently, treatments can be carried on the same day as consultation. This especially applies to wrinkle relaxer injections which are typically a very quick treatment. However, if you prefer to think things over, you will never be pressured to go ahead with treatment on the same day.
Also, if he cosmetic treatment requires more time than is available on the day of consultation, the Doctor may suggest you book a longer appointment in the coming days for your treatment.
All treatments are carried out by Dr D’Souza or one of his associated Medical Doctors who have been fully trained in the respective techniques. Furthermore, the doctor who consults with you at your medical appointment will be the same doctor administering the treatment. Treatments do not get delegated to nurses or paramedical staff at the Skin & Mole Clinic.
In this case , simply book in for a chat with the doctor, and tell the staff you will definitely not be having a treatment on the day. This actually makes it easier for our Doctors, all of whom have full Cosmetic and Skin Medicine practices. You can always book in your treatment for a later date.
